Originally the Vance Hotel, this downtown Seattle landmark has been recreated as Hotel Max. This eclectic property features local artists in each of the 163 rooms as well as luxury amenities. In each room, you will enjoy WiFi, a spiritual… Read More

Hotel Max has secured the honor of hippest hotel in the city, located close to the Fifth Avenue shopping district. Decor is a crisp palette of grays, whites, reds, and oranges along with a selection of attractive hi-tech frills (flat-screen TVs, little CD players). There are also comforts you'd find in a more ostentatious hotel, such as showpiece beds piled high with marshmallow-soft pillows....

Find local art in each of these 163 unique rooms at this downtown hotel with attitude.

In Short
A funky lobby playing rock and roll immediately sets the hip, modern mood of the rest of the hotel. Guests' doors are covered in full-length photographs--including a ""grunge...

Nice location, Great staff, killer hotel

Wow, what a nice stay we had. The Hotel Max is a great location, about 6 blocks to pikes place market, a starbucks on almost every corner, 2 -3 blocks from the light rail, which takes you from the airport. The monorail you can get at the same location, as the light rail, which will take you to the Seattle Center, and space needle. Its in a good location to get around. Although, its up hill, the...

From meeting you at the door upon arrival to seeing you off at the end of your stay Hotel Max's staff were amazing. Super willing to help and they went above and beyond for me during my stay. The rooms are spacious, bathrooms clean and stylish. The hotel is situated in the centre of things so you can walk to most of the 'sights' and good restaurants. Highly recommended!

Fantastic location, you could walk anywhere.

It was a little funky, but the location trumps everything else. The best thing is the free bubble gum machine in the lobby; I loved it. The staff was terrific. i would stay there again.

2 night stay to venture around Seattle.

Friendly staff. Retro atmosphere. One elevator was broken so the wait time was a bit long. The rooms are huge, but they are big enough. The street noise can be a factor, but didn't bother us at all. the fan was enough to buffer any noise. I slept like a baby.

Not sure I'd recommend

While the hotel is clean, the bed was nice, staff friendly, central location, etc., there are some other factors that would make me look elsewhere for my next trip to Seattle.
1 - I found the decor off-putting - artistic flair says the website, bizarre I say
2 - no pool - odd for $150/night - but the website never claims a pool
3 - bathroom reminded me of what I had on my last cruise ship...
