Great location, close to LGA, 3 blocks from Subway, terrific food, cozy yet fabulous bar with masterful bartender with fantastic choice libations and attentive front desk made our Christmas stay “fantabulous” (fantastic + fabulous). This is a good quality hotel with a wide variety of local facilities. Easy access to public transport links and has (somewhat limited) parking spaces on site. Really enjoyed staying at this Holiday Inn hotel. The view of the city from Long Island is great and the rooms were very comfortable and spacious. The staff were also very friendly and there was parking out front for an additional charge which is great for New York. Would definitely recommend!

Some reviewers complained about the neighborhood, but we weren't there for the neighborhood. We wanted a hotel close to Manhattan without Manhattan prices. Our taxi driver had a hard time finding this place from La Guardia, so you might want to map it out and give the driver directions to avoid paying a higher fare. The hotel called us a driver for the trip back to LGA and it was $25 cash....
This hotel has ridiculous views of NYC, specifically Manhattan, the bar and restaurant downstairs are really good and the fitness room works well for an overnight stay. You can see the 59th Street bridge, the Astoria bound subway trains as well as LaGuardia airport tower and planes landing - Cool!
