The situation:
I am moving from east coast to west coast. My home on the east coast is becoming a rental property once I move into my new east coast home. The bathrooms (3) in the east coast home are about 20 years old. I thought it would be nice to update them for the new tenants.
I see the hatchett commercials when I watch Jeopardy so i figured I would start with them. I called 2 months before my scheduled move date. I thought that would be more than enough time to get an estimate from at least one other company and compare notes.
Hatchett and I played phone tag for over a month. back and forth calls and no one would ever be available in the office when I would call. it became frustrating but I wanted to see the project through.
Today I finally got ahold of someone over the phone. The representative started by blaming me for the phone tag and making it sound like I should have called everyday until someone was willing to help. When the representative got on the phone his first line was that he had left "several" voicemails and that my inbox was full (untrue). Without me even having time to describe what kind of work I needed done, he told me that there was no way they would have time to take my job. Then the representative hung up on me.
I will never recommend this business to anyone nor will I ever work for them again. terrible customer service.

My mom is using Hatchett to add on a laundry room approx 7 x 15 ft. She signed the contract in late January. It's late June, and they are still not done. The painter was wretched. All sorts of surprises like cannot open the storm door on porch built. Waiting on special order storm door shorter than standard door. Cannot wait to see what they come up with to close the gap at the top.
