What a Joke!!No grouper?. Used to go to the place across the tracks but that Grumpy Grouper didn't have grouper ,I mean real grouper fish! They pushed Slai,bassa or asian catfish which is from vietnam or taiwan.The waitress said that I could not tell the difference.. Bull....! Old Florida at it's best. The service is excellent. We are fast becoming regulars - the clams, the grouper (blackened),chilled shrimp, ice cold beer, and friendly service. This is NOT Red Lobster - this is an old Florida raw bar that is also family friendly. We need more of these places.
we have been going to this restaurant for many years and I have yet to have a bad meal !! as a matter of fact, my husband was in the hospital recently and when I asked him what I could bring him.. it was a blackened grouper sandwich from Grumpy Grouper. We always take company to breakfast at John G's and lunch or dinner to Grumpy Grouper and then the company wants to eat there every single day...
Went to Lake Park location after reading write up in Palm Beach Post. The fish was tasteless, definitely did not taste like grouper, had no seasoning at all. The side dish of pigeon peas and rice was white rice colored yellow with pigeon peas and absolutely no seasoning. Although the servers were friendly, the food was unappetizing. Definitely not worth trying!
