Few things are as emblematic of Beach Drive's renaissance as this boutique hotel, which like many of downtown St. Pete's best attractions, seamlessly blends old and new. The former apartment building's 1924 facade was lovingly restored by developer Chuck Prather, who also dramatically renovated its interior. The decor and furnishings also blend the old with the new—think Edison bulb chandeliers...

Cute place but some issues

I stayed here for 3 nights on a business trip. The hotel is located on Beach Drive which is a very nice area with several restaurants and shops. It is also across the street from a park that has a small walking trail and the water which makes for very nice views.

I love the starters at the Birchwood. The flavors are phenomenal. I must eat gluten free and they do a wonderful job of providing very special choices. I also really like the wine choices. Each one I have tried is better than the last.

It was too packed and they could not keep the shrimp at the appetizer bar. As far as the bar went it was very good had two Mojito and they were excellent. Nice atmosphere and great views from the deck but over all if there is a crowed they are not able to handle it well.
