Editorial reviews from the web (4)

"Mobbed and noisy" is a given at this "huge" C-town Cantonese featuring "endless carts" stocked with "heavenly dim sum"; "hurried", "English"-challenged service and "basic Chinatown wedding party decor" are forgiven since it's a lot "cheaper than flying to Hong Kong."

Golden Unicorn Restaurant Restaurant Review

This two-decade-old Chinatown dim sum house was one of the first in the neighborhood to usher in the upscale Cantonese-style dining experience. Surrounded by the traditional red and gold décor, elegant hostesses wheel around carts laden with a jaw-dropping assortment of dim sum, including steamed vegetarian dumplings, cold jellyfish, orange-flavored jumbo shrimp, and five varieties of wontons....

Cantonese-style dim sum served in authentic style. Don't expect quiet or hushed tones as this is the real thing, vivacious, noisy and exciting. Dinner time offers a more in-depth menu, but the dim sum is something not to be missed. Brave the crowds on weekends, and take a number...the wait is usually not terribly long. Year after year, Golden Unicorn remains one of our favorite dim sum palaces...

Citysearch Editorial Review

Mammoth and multi-storied, the restaurant's decor consists of pink upholstery on glossy black chairs, tables for two, four, six and more scattered about, and the centerpiece--two golden dragons...

There was a good selection of Dim Sum,...

Golden Unicorn is officially my favorite Dim Sum restaurant in New York City. You are greeted on the first floor at the East Broadway entrance and sent up in an elevator to a charming dining room complete with white tablecloths and gold chair covers. The...

A good place for dim sum

We went on a Saturday and it was crowded with locals. Good sign. We arrived late though (around 1:30pm) and there was not much left. Nevertheless, we managed to have the rice enveloped in leaves ( do not miss it) and almost all the shrimp...
