What the community has to say about Gingerman

Information about this business (3)

The Dallas Ginger Man was the second member of the family, and has been serving fine beer since 1992. An aspect unique to the Dallas pub is the beautiful upstairs lounge with its own bar and balcony. We are especially proud of our selections of Belgian ales and lambics, Oktoberfest brews, British & German beers, and beer from microbreweries local to each pub.

Located near the trendy Quadrangle area of Dallas, The Gingerman was one of the first microbreweries to pop up in the area. In addition to their home-brewed flavors, there are 70 varieties of draft beer, as well as a countless number of bottled brands. The usually large crowd ranges in age from early twenties to late fifties. The back deck is a great place to enjoy that hard-to-find-beer while...

The first in the family of pubs was created in Houston in 1985 by Bob Precious. Certain aspects of Bob’s history bore rese...mblance to the main character, Sebastian Dangerfield, in J.P. Donleavy’s 1952 novel The Ginger Man*, and this provided the name of the pub. The blossoming appreciation of fine imported beers and the excellent level of service provided by the Houston pub led to...

Editorial review from Citysearch

My favorite pub in FtW! Great patio and wonderful quality brews. A great place to hang out with friends and pass the time. Those complaining about slow service should head to Chili's and order their Bud Light double quick. Here's a hint: if you are on the patio and wanting to order another beer- do so when your current glass is about 1/3 full. Doing so will ensure a minimal wait!

Brewpub from Houston features a wide selection of drafts in a trendy scene.

In Short
Imports and domestic abound; more than 70 taps line the wall behind the bar. A friendly staff and comfortable surroundings offset the fact that the bar is located near trendy...

Great beer. You can smoke cigars on the deck/patio. Cigars are overpriced but is normal considering it bring a bar. Tap selection is undeniable one of the best. Establishment has upstairs and downstairs. I come 2-4 times a year. If I was a beer fan it would be more often.
