Gina La Fornarina Restaurant Review

Gina La Fornarina sits in the midst of the Upper East Side’s tony private school area. Predictably serving pizza, pasta and panini, the tiny pink and white spot tries hard to become a broader Italian restaurant with menu options including veal and chicken dishes and meal-size salads. A short distance from the Guggenheim there is a gem of a small Italian restaurant. The gnocchi are to die for. The salads are fresh and the desserts are worth every bite

Ordered a primavera omelette with salad. The salad was drenched in dressing trying to hide the fact that everything was wilted and old. The omelette was basically filled with green beans with a sprinkling of some slithers of carrots. Not very tasty or impressed.

Love, love, love Gina. Everything I've ever had here is great- shrimp capellini, Fish, chicken dishes, turkey meatballs, all good. It is small- small tables, small everything but they always seem to have room, never a long wait. It feels like a warm, neighborhood restaurant in Carnegie Hill. The staff is always friendly, competent, nice. We love this place.

Great pizza and pasta. It's unfortunate that the space is tiny and can be very cramped when full, which it usually is.
