Low-Country Cuisine. The Soul of Washington, D.C. Gracious service and Southern Hospitality. Simply succulent. Unique in design, Georgia Brown's warmly opened its doors in 1993. Part of the visual appeal lends itself to the bronzed ceiling scroll reminiscent of grand Oak trees outstretched like a lace border over Southern streets. Blonde woods cascade through the restaurant giving a sense of...

Ok so this place was really good. So much that we actually went two nights in a row. First night I had the Seafood Pasta and my colleague had the Gumbo. Other dishes that were noted as being very good were the Crab Cakes and...

Service was awesome, food was delicious and generous portions. We went to celebrate a birthday and the hostess was so kind to get us a dessert and a lot candle to sing happy birthday to our dear friend. Will definitely be back!

This may be the best place to have grits anywhere. That's not the only thing that is delicious though. They have live jazz and a lovely interior. It's expensive though.

Southern Food Could Be Better

I’m from the South, so I know good Southern cuisine. This isn’t it, I’m sorry to say. I’ve had better Southern food at the potluck church functions that I used to attend. The food wasn’t properly seasoned and you could tell the cooks weren’t from...

Low-Country Cuisine is our country’s richest culinary traditions. The food is to be slowly savored, traditional Fried Green Tomatoes, Perlau, straight from Charleston, and Fried Chicken to compete with your Grandmama’s. Proper Desserts, like Homemade Ice Cream a top our Peach Cobbler will cause you to swing your feet while your spoon clatters to get every last bite.

Georgia Brown's offers a wide variety of soul food and "low country" fare served with Southern hospitality. Select from the traditional dishes of South Carolina, such as fried catfish and seafood gumbo, or be daring and try the shrimp and grits or frogmore stew. In a nod to the health conscious, Georgia Brown's also offers vegetarian versions of the meat-filled entrees. For a special treat,...

Lunch: Underneath all the politicking and intrigue, DC is a Southern city at heart. And that's why this upscale mainstay continues to attract a wide mix of politicos and world citizens longing for Low Country cooking. Barbecued salmon fillets, shrimp and grits, Frogmore stew (seafood, no frogs) and fried chicken are menu classics that come with cornbread, biscuits and lots of animated...

Georgia Brown's menu features Southern style food. The menu includes items such as crab cakes, fried green tomatoes, and black eyed pea cakes.
