Gemini Bistro Restaurant Review

There's something to be said for keeping things simple. Case in point: Lincoln Park’s Gemini Bistro, which offers a mix of French bistro classics and contemporary American dishes. Short rib ravioli oozes rich flavor from the slowly cooked meat and pairing of tomato marmalade. The menu is organized by the size of the dishes --- small, medium and large --- making it easy to create the meal of...

Chef Jason Paskewitz's "approachable" New American fare with French-Med inflections is "designed to please" at this Lincoln Park bistro where a "friendly" staff and simple, "classy" decor including a big marble bar add to the "warm atmosphere"; some call it "solid but not stellar" but given the fair prices and "interesting" bites, locals deem it "worth going back to."

There's something to be said for keeping things simple. Case in point: Lincoln Park's Gemini Bistro, where chef-about-town Jason Paskewitz (he's clocked in at SushiSamba Rio, JP Chicago and Wave, among others) works his culinary magic on a… Read More

Chef Jason Paskewitz (SushiSamba Rio, JP Chicago) has come back to Earth, or Lincoln Park, with a small neighborhood bistro after trying and failing to conquer Chicago with his past massive restaurants. Dressed in library-beige and dark wood, Gemini Bistro doesn't attempt to win you over with ceiling murals or wine rooms, but with what you want on your plate: perfectly executed, familiar...

My wife and I dined at Gemini Bistro on New Year's eve for a special fixed price ($85/person) dinner. The "value" was closer to $30/person

Just love this comfy, modern neighborhood bistro....salads are the best and the short rib ravioli will keep you coming back...bone-in swordfish was awesome...valet parking a plus...need a better tasting New Zealand Savingnon Blanc..

The food was ok. Overpriced for the quality. The steak was good but the pasta dish and the appetizers were just ok.

Know Before You Go: Don't come here on a diet. While the menu does offer a fair number of salads and fish options, the restaurant's real specialty is the kind of rich, comforting food that demands abandoning all calorie-counting.

The Extras: Although the ambiance is decidedly upscale, there is a kids' menu with options that would fall within any tyke's comfort zone: mac 'n' cheese, chicken fingers, a peanut butter and jam sandwich. There are even four "kiddie cocktails," including a Shirley Temple and house-made fruit punch.

What to Drink: In a somewhat confusing move, the cocktail list is broken down by type of glassware. Still, it demands attention: The Velvet Old Fashioned improves upon the classic whiskey drink with a float of Cointreau that imparts a slightly sweeter and more pronounced orange flavor.
