Gee Willickers is one of the best-kept secrets in the city. Even my friends that have lived in Riverwest for years didn't know it was just blocks away on the sleepy corner of Clarke and Dousman....

Buzzer on the door. Very non-descript. Come here for basic beer and drinks. Come here if it's a short walk away.

The quintessential corner bar. Some may balk at having to get buzzed in, but personally, I feel all safe and cozy inside knowing the bartenders are keeping a lookout. The jukebox is seriously awesome, plugged with crazy-eclectic homemade mixes - Loretta Lynn, Donny Hathaway, Cyndi Lauper, Iron Maiden, Big Country, etc. They'll turn it up if you ask, but be nice and ask the bartender or whoever...
