Professional and friendly auto mechanics!

I was very pleased with the work and friendly attitude of the mechanics at funk-a-motive. They saved me a lot of money (compared to the dealer quote) and only performed the work that was needed. They were able to accomodate my need for quick work and my car was fixed on the same day that it was dropped off. When I picked up my car they explained the work that was done in a way that I could understand and also gave me good advice on other work that I might consider in the future (preventative maintenance). I will definitely be back!!

Pros

+ quick work, good price, good explanation

Review from a mechanic's daughter

I spent hours and hours in my dad's shop as a kid so I tend to be really conservative in the recommendations I give regarding mechanics. But since I usually don't have the time or space to work on my truck, I've been dozens of shops all over the states (I travel quite a bit). So with that in mind, the guys at Funk-a-Motive are worth the effort of finding. There's no appointment necessary and they could easily charge 2-3 times more and not lose business. Last time I lived in Austin the older brother owned and ran the shop but now it's turned over to the younger brother--they both are huge in...

Affordable car repair between classes

Its easy to miss if you're not familiar with E. Manor, but don't give up or go to a major chain auto repair store. These guys know what they're talking about, and for changing my break pads they charged really reasonable rates for labor and didn't mark up my parts much at all - probably just what the parts delivery guy charged. They were able to take my car w/o an appointment and everything was done within 2 hrs.

One ""warning"" - they use high-quality parts by default so if you're planning to sell or trade in your car soon be sure to let them know you want bottom-of-the-line parts.

Very helpful and friendly. Like a few of the other reviewers, I'm a single gal and unfamiliar with the Austin area. They were nice guys and went out of their way to help me with my problem (on a Saturday no less!). I'd recommend their services to everyone.

I'm new to the area and had car problems. The staff were friendly and I didn't feel like the estimate given was a rip off. Especially, since I am a female. I've recommended this to other females, espcially, single one. The work on the car works great, so Thanks fellas!

Pros

+ Competent
