We made our first trip to Berkeley to see specific musicians playing at Freight & Storage. It was a great experience. We really like respectful audiences and more intimate venues to listen to our favorite musicians. This was perfect. We met many like-minded people in the audience and talked at length with others about other folk/roots musicians they had seen....

Over the years, the Freight has evolved from a crowded, scrappy bar with a stage down on San Pablo to a comfy downtown concert hall with a good sound system and drinks and snacks at the back. I miss the old days, but the music is still just fine.
