Fran's Chocolates

That Fran's Welsh smoked-salt caramels are a favorite of President Obama should give you an idea that this downtown chocolatier is worth a visit. While caramels are the specialty, there are lots of other delicious chocolates, including unusual chocolate-dipped figs.

It would be hard to complain if life were like a box of Frans chocolates. The seattle chocolatier is a great place to pick up assorted truffles and caramels (including the salted kind favored by Mr. Obama) and the sleek setting at Four Seasons is perfect for people watching. Individual truffles can be pricey and will leave you wanting more. Best to spring for a box.

I only had the Americano but it was so great! And it came with a mini chocolate, which was very tasty. The worker there brought out little samples of the caramel chocolate with nuts.
