We are locals, and try to get to different places sometimes to see what we might be missing. We have always had our go-to spots, but with the closing of the delta pub in gladstone some time ago we didn't have a good place to enjoy a fish fry. Fridays were made for fish frys. Someone suggested the ford river...

Good local food

This is not a five star restaurant with an eclectic menu. But, it is a great example of UP cooking. No need to dress up, it's mostly locals in jeans. We ate on a Friday night so we had the perch and walleye. So good! Reasonable prices. I would eat here often if I lived in the area.

We go to the Ford River Pub regularly because we know that the food will always be wonderful and the bill will affordable. The staff is fun and the atmosphere is relaxed. Always very clean and consistent.

seafood, burgers, pizza

This restaurant is right down the road from us, they have wonderful food, $1.00 burgers on Wednesdays, dine in only but well worth it. The shrimp and perch meals are wonderful, and there pizza are great, if your ever coming thru Ford River Michigan, stop at the Ford River Pub!

Wed. nights are one buck burger night...can't beat that price! Waitstaff is good and it has a relaxed atmosphere. We like to come here when they have the holiday buffets also...good prices.
