Business description (3)

The Folk Art Center is a showcase for the traditional arts and crafts of the Southern Appalachians. The traditional craft techniques are displayed daily as local craftspeople provide demonstrations. Three fine art galleries, a craft shop, the Eastern National Bookstore and more. Open daily except for New Year's Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas.

Traditional and contemporary Southern Appalachian crafts, including century-old pieces, are displayed in this folk art center, which also houses the first craft shop in the U.S.

Headquarters of the Southern Highland Craft Guild, featuring Allanstand Craft Shop, three exhibition galleries, a library, and Blue Ridge Parkway information desk and bookstore.
