Best sushi available in Elko! You can tell the chefs at the Flying Fish really recognise sushi as an art form, not just food. Great food (art), service staff is good, and the prices are...well...about what you'd expect for fine dining. Overall a great place to eat. Must visit!

Flying Fish used to be my favorite restaurant in Elko. Wonderful selection of well-prepared dishes. Sadly, it was sold a year or two ago (?) and has not been the same since. While the menu is still interesting and varied, and the dishes are often -- though not always -- still good, the service has been terrible almost every time...

Slow down for dinner

This place has great sushi. The service is very slow but that gives you time to sit and visit without feeling rushed to eat and leave. They also have a whole menu of non-sushi options for those who are not into sushi.

This is the second time I have tried this place. The first time was for an opening reception for the Elko Mining Show and I thought they showed reasonably well for a HUGE group of people who spilled out of the outdoor dining area and took over the alley. Actually great! good service, cool atmosphere. These stylish hipster hippy kids are aching to leave the small town. They're cooler than you but they keep your beer full, they're super friendly and the sushi's shockingly good.
