With great daily specials and eccentric fishing decor, this fried-seafood restaurant in Addison has a down-home feel.

In Short
The restaurant's easygoing atmosphere has a quirky twist, with a fishing-themed interior, accented by a collection of singing bass toys. But the patio, with its old trees and...

Great food. I had the basket of fried catfish and it had a thin and crispy batter. Their tarter sauce was the BEST tarter sauce I have ever tried ! Seriously. Creamy and just something special about it I wanted to dip everything in it lol fried pickles were ok, very thin cut I'm used to thicker cut and juicier …

This is the last time I eat at Flying Fish in Addison. I have been getting fried catfish at this restaurant for more than 10 years; they have always made it a 10:30 am and were always friendly. Today they said the restaurant opens at 11:00 am and they wanted to know what I was ordering and had to …

Wow I just bought crabs. No seasoning at all. Just steamed. I asked for obey seasoning. They don't carry it at a seafood spot. I start eating the crabs and it has a strong odor not fishy. I smell it and let my boyfriend smell it. It smells like they soaked the crabs in bleach and the meat is grey. Why are they soaking the crabs in chemicals. This is scary. I will never ever order here again.

We love the catfish, hushpuppies studded with whole kernels of corn, and the shrimp, catfish, or oysters that fill the po’ boys. Campy decor rounds out the experience.

Tips about this business (4)

When to Go: Daily specials are always a big draw, but the most popular lures are Wednesdays (all-you-can-eat catfish) and Sundays (25-cent oysters on the half shell).

The Extras: Although not technically included in the all-you-can-eat catfish "refills," friendly chefs have been known to relinquish an extra hush puppy or two if you ask nicely.
