Help us make it rightFlor's Kitchen: If you can snag one of the 15 chairs at this tiny East Village Venezuelan eatery, it's a very pleasant, low-key spot to savor the home-made half moons molded of corn flour called empanadas criollas ($2.75 for one). The smooth, doughy packets have a thin, crisp-fried outer layer and modest amounts of fillings such as spiced chicken with diced red pepper and onion or black bean...

The tuna ceviche was so unfresh - the tuna was actually brown. My mouth was almost burning from the amount of lime in the other ceviches. Our warm bread pudding dessert, aside from tasting like water, was actually cold in the middle. The service was so great, but even good service cannot make up for food this poor.
Randomly stopped here for brunch on a Saturday. The brunch menu was varied and everything sounded delicious. I had the spanish omelet which was excellent. The plantains were the best I've ever had. OJ was fresh squeezed and the coffee was made the 'right' way and excellent as well.
We were the only ones there so the service was good. The people were very friendly and polite so I don't...
I went to eat at Flor's Kitchen this past weekend with a good friend who recommended it. I have to say this is some of the best food I have had in the past months in NY. We started
with an appetizer of small empanadas that came served with an avocado an a spicy sauce on the side that were just delicious. For entrees we had the asado and the meat lasagna.
The one quality I liked about them...
We ordered to our hotel room and it was upside down, and there was not nearly enough taste to these foods and it was expensive.
There is a mercadito close that was charming and equally expensive buy tasty and right side up.
This place was completely empty when me and my friends decided to give it a chance for dinner a few nights ago. The enrees seemed liek they came out of a box and were microwaved, tasteless and bland. Everything is overpriced and portions are small. The Sangria was not good either. Please go get a taco on west 4th and save yourself $40 a piece.
