I live in the Williamsburg Apartments in the Atlanta metro area, which First Communities recently bought. I just got a letter notifying me that they're demolishing large portions of the complex, including mine, and I have 60 days to leave. They couldn't even wait one month until after the holidays. Happy holidays to about 500 people losing their homes! What's even sadder is that this is a lovely complex, very spacious with lots of trees, very park-like. I have lived at Berkeley Landing apartments for the past 7 1/2 years. Obviously having lived here this long I have mostly enjoyed calling this my home. Unfortunately I have witnessed the stark decline and degradation of my quality of life in the last year or so. The property has been, to a great extent, co-opted out as a drug rehab center. Multiple and entire apartment buildings on the property have been rented to a drug/alcohol rehab company. The new management is poor in judgment and lack basic customer service skills. I don't think they even know what a lease is or how to deal with requests, complaints or suggestions. I have been living here at Century Statebridge apartments for about a year now and day one I was approached by my Indian neighbors on the third floor, I was moving in on the 2nd floor, and they told me that both their kids had ADHD and knock on the ceiling if they are loud.
