Filini Restaurant Review

There’s a sleek, low-hung feel to this second-floor dining room in the stylish Radisson Blu Aqua Hotel Chicago. It’s set atop a sprawling, street-level bar serving stuzzichini (Italian bar bites) and sports a shareable spirit --- but the carpaccio bruschetta with saffron aïoli is something you'll want to keep to yourself. Overall, flavors are bold, be it in a dish of grilled blue prawns with...

Filini, a modern Italian restaurant in the Aqua Tower, opened with executive chef Christian Fantoni, a Le Bernardin and Le Cirque vet, in the kitchen. Get ready for a large wine list, along with gnocchi with braised oxtail, vegetable ragu…

Sitting on the first 18 floors of the 82-story Aqua Tower—a striking high-rise with undulating concrete floor slabs that resemble a ruffled flamenco dress—Radisson Blu Aqua Hotel opened at the end of 2011. Blu is well placed in the city, within easy striking distance of both Millennium Park and North Michigan Avenue. But there is plenty to keep you entertained on-site: a massive...

Great food and friendly service but SO SLOW. Restaurant was practically empty but we were there almost three hours for dinner and I had a similar experience when I had breakfast there later in the week.

Management appeared to not have staffed the restaurant accordingly for the mother's day brunch as we, and other tables, were waiting for quite long periods for basic things such as: water, coffee, drinks, etc. Food arrived on time, but was a bit cold.

New chef is doing a great job. Sampled a few things and enjoyed all. I can always get a table here, I think because of the location it's perhaps not the first place everyone thinks of when they're contemplating options on Michigan Ave. Worth going a block east, however. Great atmosphere. I always ask for a table in Youssef's section, he's wonderful.
