The 1903 beaux arts exterior of one of the city's first small luxury hotels is a study in understated class and elegance. Inside, the intimate lobby is all black mahogany with bold splashes of red, brightened with recessed lighting and abstract art. Rooms are done up in soothing, neutral shades of espresso, taupe, and cream, and each has a gas fireplace and surround-sound stereo. The fitness...

A 62-room Beaux Arts beauty high up on Beacon Hill, this place generally gets top billing in the Boston boutique stakes. It's rich on detail, from its black-walled lobby to rooms with open (gas) fires, printer/scanner/fax machines, five-disc CD players with library, Deco-esque four-poster beds, and furniture of dark wood, brushed steel, and leather. Mooo—a steakhouse, clearly—opened in August...

I love XV Beacon, it is the only place I will stay in Boston. Every person I came in contact with from the valet, front desk, concierge, housekeeping, general manager, could not have been more polite or accommodating. They were very helpful with dining suggestions and reservations.
Our room was tastefully decorated and clean. The bed was extremely comfortable and...

Boutique Hotel that has luxury feel in the details

The lobby is dark and cavelike but don't let that fool you. The rooms are bright and airy. Everything was pure luxury from the sheets, pillow, furniture, throw blankets, the soaps and lotions. The room was very tasteful and we were told we got the biggest studio suite -- it was very spacious but wouldn't say is was SO big....

Boutique & Classy. Perfect location. Set your expectation though

It's a boutique hotel with all the luxury. Gorgeous decor, with history and class. We are from Boston but we looove staying here occasionally to get away.
It also is in a perfect location to walk around, enjoy the bars and restaurants, Boston Common, go see a movie, etc. etc.
Make sure you know what you are looking for though....
