One of the country's premier dining rooms, Everest is located on the 40th floor of the Chicago Stock Exchange. Chef/proprietor J. Joho's world-renowned cuisine and award-winning wine list have earned Everest international recognition.

Spectacular lake views, sparkling skyline, and breezes that have a way of swirling into ops for snuggling. It's no coincidence Cupid's already posted countless...

Soaring above Chicago's skyline on the 40th floor of One Financial Place and under the culinary direction of Chef/Owner Jean Joho, Everest serves some of Chicago's finest personalized cuisine. "Though the restaurant has a spectacular unobstructed cityscape as a backdrop, the food is what commands attention," said Chicago Magazine, which has voted Everest four stars for the tenth year in a row,...

Like the summit of the mountain, Everest the restaurant is not terribly easy to reach. First, there is no outward indication that you’ve found the restaurant. You need to locate the unmarked garage on the side of the building opposite the restaurant’s street address. The garage door opens after you’ve identified yourself, and after parking, you enter the first of three elevators needed to get...

Everest Restaurant Review

Everest has maintained its perch above Chicago's skyline for more than 25 years; the spectacular view from the 40th floor never gets old. Evolved décor brought sleek silver fixtures and contemporary artwork on the walls. The changes made sense, the easier feel analogous to chef-proprietor Jean Joho's personal vision. Chef Joho's Alsatian roots dot the menu. One night, slow-poached farm egg,...

George purchased a three-room cottage for his mother in 1772 for £225, renovated it, and more than doubled its size with additions. She spent the last 17 years of her life here, tending the garden where her original boxwoods still flourish today, and where many a bride and groom now exchange their vows. The home has been a museum since 1930. Inside, displays include Mrs. Washington's "best...

It's Spring: Where to Find Fiddlehead Ferns in Chicago

Despite a return to winter temps, a sign that spring is here is the appearance of fiddlehead ferns on Chicago menus. The elusive spring green is a chef favorite that's often harvested in early May, thus many of the restaurants that have them now are among the trendiest and priciest in town. Check out the map to see where fiddleheads are already sprouting in the city.

"Incredible" views of the city are just one of the draws at this "high-class", high-elevation Loop dining room atop the Chicago Stock Exchange, where chef Jean Joho prepares "sublime" Alsatian-influenced French prix fixe menus augmented by a "wine list that includes wonderful offerings not found elsewhere"; the "gorgeous" room is matched by top service – no surprise it's a "favorite for...

Four Chicago Restaurants Earn AAA Five Diamond

AAA has announced its Five Diamond Award recipients for 2013 and four Chicago restaurants have retained their rating. Alinea, Arun's, Everest and Tru all earned the award, tying the city with Las Vegas for the second-most behind New York. The Five Diamond restaurants remain unchanged from last year with the exception of Charlie Trotter's, which has since closed. All four have held the top...

We chose Everest for our Valentine's Day dinner. When we arrived, we could not get into the designated parking lot and spent 20 mins trying to find a place to park. The main dining room is beautiful but we were placed in a small room that is normally for private dining and it felt a bit uncomfortable with only have two other tables in such a small place. The menu was fixed for a 6 course meal....
