Where to Eat, Drink and Watch the World Cup

The kickoff to the World Cup is Thursday, and at least in Washington, D.C. not everyone is a fan of Team USA. Our international stature as a city also means that every four years, allegiances to soccer are split.

But everyone can come together for penny beers, free doughnuts and $1 hot dogs. In this map, Eater has uncovered some of the best food and drink deals for U.S. soccer fans. And why...

Foie-diculous Dishes in DC

Foie gras is one of those truly decadent ingredients, like caviar, lobster and truffles. It isn't cheap or easy to find. But some restaurants and chefs are making it easier for diners to indulge in a bit of foie gras by adding it in some unexpected places. One combines the childhood favorite peanut butter and jelly with foie gras. Another uses it in a Thai curry. Foie gras waffles and French...

"Bustling with energy", this "spirited" Logan Circle Spanish tapas destination is "big on creative flavors", with an "ever-changing" menu of "earthy", "sometimes daring" delights (take care: the bill "can add up"); however, it's "small on space", so come early to avoid "painful waits" for a table in the "playful" "Moorish-meets-Almodóvar" space – or if you must wait, the "knowledgeable"...

Where to Avoid Restaurant Week Insanity

The sun rises way too late and sets way too early; the weather is chilly and gray, and the holidays are a distant, hazy memory. These can only mean one thing: Restaurant Week has arrived. It's no secret that having a multi-course meal for $20.14 at lunch or $35.14 for dinner can be a great way to try new restaurants and exciting dishes. But Restaurant Week can also be a waiter's and diner's...

Are These D.C.'s Most Consistent Restaurants?

Last week, Eater asked readers to name D.C.'s most consistent restaurant in 2013. They had plenty to say. Nearly 30 restaurants were named through the comments section and the tipline, with some places such as Marcel's and Central receiving multiple nods. Agree with what the readers had to say? Share thoughts in the comments.

We love to eat here before our Studio Theatre Series production. The tapas is amazing. We especially like the grilled foie gras on toast. The four of us usually share 5 tapas dishes as well as 2 desserts. with a Gintonic first, this takes us about 1 1/2 hours and let's us just cross the street to the theatre.

Terrific food. Fantastic Spanish wine list. Every dish was great. Smallish portions but that's tapas for you. Highly recommend.

Very crowded. We had a reservation but were seated at the bar. I expected the restaurant to be busy, but we saw table after table get their food at a normal speed, yet all of our tapas and drinks took a while to make it to us. We would have spent more money on drinks and dessert, but could never find anyone to ask for more, and the entire experience was very slow. I was disappointed, as I had...

Always enjoy coming here, one of the best cheese plates around.
