The rolled and filled pancake-like snacks (pupusas) served here are terrific---tender wrappers enfold a variety of fillings from beans to cheese to pork, and a combination of the same. The other house specialty is cilantro chicken, but it's just a dish of cubed breast, doused in liberal amounts of oil and butter speckled with cilantro, and served with the ubiquitous scoops of beans and rice....

"Very Good" obviously has a different meaning for a place like "El Tamarindo" than it would for "Komi" or the like... this is, after all, rather low brow.

The only restaurant with outdoor seating on Upper Georgia Ave near Walter Reed. Of course the view is of a gorgeous Exxon station. Decent food, margaritas...
