This is a beautiful spot to spend time visiting a special part of Detroit history. The home is magnificent, the grounds lovely and Lake St. Clair dreamy. We did have lunch on site and it was excellent. You won't be
disappointed and you can stay as long as you like.
Every part of this property is elegant and beautiful. Edsel and Eleanor Ford built a beautiful home, with so many neat elaborate pieces along with some very modern characteristics for the time. I was very impressed how everything was kept up and how many original pieces were in the home. The stuff was quite unfriendly during the tour and often...
A beautiful home in a pretty setting - guided tour was very informative regarding architecture, furnishings, history and personal tidbits about the family. Physically easy - shuttle will take you from garage to house/parking lot if you tire out after walking the grounds. Must be gorgeous in the fall when the leaves are changing.

This splendid, tasteful mansion overlooks Lake St. Clair. Edsel, the only child of Henry and Clara Ford, and his wife Eleanor built this home in 1929, and it remains today as it was back then — an oversized version of an English country home. Much of the paneling and furnishings were imported from the UK. Today, the estate is open for tours of the home, gardens, gallery, and grounds. You can...
