We were passing through Johnson City on our way to Fredericksburg and stopped for lunch. What a pleasant surprise!

Arrived famished in Johnson City and headed directly to this restaurant for a late lunch.
The large dining room had been full, but about half the tables were empty with dirty dishes not yet picked up. Waitress apologized but we waited for about 35 minutes until a table came open at the street-side window in the front smaller dining room....

Well crafted grilled cheese sandwich with apple slices and blue cheese was delicious as was the tomato basil soup. Potato soup was exceptional. Great waitress, wonderful atmosphere. Will be back on next road trip.
