Duffy's is known for its great burgers, served on a english muffin. There are daily specials that are all very good. Lovely local neighborhood bar.

Long long wait for good food

I waited over one hour for my cheeseburger and onion rings. The burgers were good, not amazing, and I was starving! They put the burger on an English muffin and the burger doesn't stick out past the muffin. It's more like meatball.
The bar is about 25 feet wide and about 60 feet long. That includes the kitchen two bathrooms...

I have heard for years about how good the burgers are here. I think my mistake was to try this restaurant for the first time with their take out service. Living in SI I have heard nothing but good things about duffy's tavern and was excited to eat there. When I finally did it ended up being a disappointing experience.
It began with a poor selection of on tap beers. If you're going to present yourself as an "Irish tavern" have a better selection that doesn't include Bud. I ordered...

Acolytes assert "it's worth a trip to the wilds of West Brighton" for "bar-food nirvana" at this Staten Island "haunt" where "terrific burgers" are the star on a "consistent" pub menu; expect a "time-warp" setting and "value" prices.
