Tucked beneath Mercadito in River North, this "intimate" mixology lounge turns out "quality craft cocktails" (designed by the Tippling Bros.) from a theatrical "island bar" set amid rustic yet "trendy" confines; it's expensive and the door policy's tough, but the drinks, Latin-tinged edibles (guac, ceviche, modern tacos) and sexy sightings prove to be ample rewards.

Double A Restaurant Review

In the subterranean cocktail den Double A, bartenders put on a show at the "mixologist's table" (similar to a chef's table), where imbibers can hand-select ingredients or choose from the inventive list of cocktails or wide selection of tequilas. The inside-out bar has mixologists interacting with patrons in an intimate way as they craft their Tippling Bros. drinks like the Kissyomama with tequila, mango, Thai basil, ginger liqueur and habanero sauce. You don't need a password to get in, but once...

Business description (2)

We stopped by for happy hour on a Wednesday .. just after 6pm the place opens thus we had no problem getting a table. Note there is no bar - just a few tables (best for a group of four or couples). Most drinks are tequilla based - and expertly mixed. We sampled a few tacos: short rib, shrimp, mushroom .. they were fantastic! -
