Arriving via Miami, this latest creation of Kevin Aoki of Benihana of Tokyo fame draws a young, trendy and spirited after hours crowd who gather for specialty drinks like Watermelon Lychee Martinis and Tokyo Cosmopolitans. It is tucked away on the third floor of the Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center, a couple of escalator rides to the doorway, but once inside most will be dazzled by the trendy...
From entrepreneur Kevin Aoki, son of Benihana founder Rocky Aoki, comes this low-lit bells-and-whistles sushi-roll chain (Miami, Kuala Lumpur, and Ho Chi Minh City have other locations) aimed at a nightclubbing crowd. Order dishes such as tuna tataki and the popular Emporer Roll, a seafood extravaganza of tuna, crab, shrimp, and scallop crusted in panko and flash-fried. And there is tempura...
The lounge is trendy, hip, and the place to be on those late nights in Waikiki. The shopping mall setting quickly gives way to an ambiance that is more urban than tropical. Locals dress to impress, sip sake and sample sushi. Alas, there is no music or dancing, but the load of beautiful people is a welcome substitute for the lack of entertainment. The lychee martinis are resort-priced but worth it.

Food was great . Service was terrible would have ordered more if service was prompt . Took 30+mins to get anything .Manager said he would "Doctor" our bill never happened he just gave us a nominal amount of sake very disappointing
Awesome food, some of the best sushi I've ever had. Unfortunately really bad service...maybe just a one off for us.

For the 3rd time this week we were able to enjoy the food at Doraku Waikiki . As always it was exellent . Today we were surprised by the manager with a fantastic dessert of warm crispy brownies , banana soaked with cognac and vanilla ice cream . Thank you very much for that. We'll see you next Thursday again and are already looking forward .
