We had a little trouble finding Doc's BBQ and Smoked Meats that hot Saturday, July 4th evening. It's located in a small strip mall by a gas station and Whataburger. But the 'Q inside was well worth the search. If you're anywhere near Crockett, don't sleep on this gem.

Good BBQ

Sampled the ribs, brisket and sides while having lunch with family. Couldn't quite finish the plate, the serving was huge. Very tasty and especially liked the ribs and okra.

VG brisket sandwich and lunch

The chopped brisket sandwich was very good. The fried okra side was also very good - lightly breaded and the okra was still crunch. The sausage looked good, but I didn't try it. There isn't much more to say. Restaurant is on a gas station lot. Decor is mounted game heads and James Dean posters.

We were on a reunion trip to East Texas, and we were looking for a good place to get genuine East Texas BBQ. Doc's was a real surprise. It is located in a convenience store/gas station. I have family nearby and we always pick up some Doc's when we visit to take home with us. Have been doing so for years and never been disappointed!
The hubbie and I usually get some brisket, but my favorite is the sausage and boudin. Really flavorful and juicy...and has that perfect smoked taste. He loves loves LOVES the ribs...
