Avoid Dobie Center

Dobie doesn't have sufficient air conditioning and no maintenance. It's very difficult to work with management. Dobie is very expensive and doesn't offer much except a good location. Look elsewhere. There are much better deals and much nicer dorms. Even the UT dorms have AC and sufficient staff.

pretty good

I stayed at Dobie for 2 years from 2006 until this last Spring. Most of all my experiences have been positive. Food and security are both very good here. Maintenence for the most part fixed things timely. Other than a few small things I would highly reccomend for incoming Freshman and others not wanting an apartment..

Dobie Theater is a good place to catch independent films year-round. It's not the most comfortable or nicest-looking theater, but you'll definitely get your money's worth when you can't find that movie playing...
