A recent reconfiguration of Dobb’s Ferry, made room for a much-needed Hayes Valley neighborhood watering hole, which is now known as Dobb’s Bar. You’ll find a casual, welcoming atmosphere offering a liquor shot list, 8 beers on tap, select wines, bar bites and six televisions to view the game. Come for drinks, and stay for Executive Chef and co-owner Mike Yakura’s blend of California bistro style cuisine with East Coast nuances. Highlights include soft white colored wainscoting, directional ceiling lighting on tracks, wall sconces, thick wood topped tables, and a display of photographs...

A great neighborhood stop-in-for-a-dinner kind of place with very nice cocktails. Ask to sit in the front room for my favorite experience. Oh and order the pizza. Any pizza. You're welcome.

Service can be iffy, but the wedge salad is a sure thing.

Don't forget the...

The food here was above average but also above-priced. Servers were sensitive to our upcoming theater time. The bar area up front was quite loud, but the regular dining room in the back was quiet enough that you could talk with your dinner partner. The menu is pretty limited - not a lot of choice. And a bit too much tendency to pour greens and seeds on everything. For example the house smoked...

The restaurant is a great location for pre-symphony or opera and the staff is always pleasant. However, the food is just not good. This is our third visit and we now give up. This restaurant needs a new chef! Too many other great choices available in this area.
