Anthology and Dizzy's are my two favorite jazz venues, both downtown. The best straight ahead jazz place is definitely Dizzy's. They have an irregular schedule of musicians but usually top rate people, even if they may not be "names" yet.
But I had to leave Dizzy's to get a cup of coffee. What kind of jazz place makes you leave...

Great ambience

Dizzy's is lots of fun. We enjoyed the patio and fire pits. The wine tasting and the server were wonderful. Food was good, we sampled a number of appetizers. We were able to enjoy the music through the glass, this worked great for us so we could enjoy the wine and food. Overall, I'd go back!

This venue focuses on the performances, yet also has fine wine selections and food. Guests love it for this very quality. There are jazz jams on Friday nights after midnight, and music and performance art shows other days of the week. Cash only for tickets at the door.
