What the community has to say about Delicatus

Information about this business (2)

We are committed to locally sourced, sustainable ingredients combined with exceptional customer service at a fair price

Delicatus was formed on the simple concept that people in the greater Seattle area deserve a better sandwich. Until now, the idea of a deli in Seattle has been broadly misrepresentative of the traditional European delicatessens and the ones that European emigrants founded in the Eastern United States. Here at Delicatus our vision is to meld both local and European traditions by using primarily...

Delicatus Restaurant Review

A cross between a funky Pioneer Square pub and traditional European-style deli, Delicatus serves sandwiches highlighting locally sourced ingredients. Of the 25 sandwiches on the menu --- divided into traditional and progressive --- our favorite is the ShankLamb, which features a huge portion of flavorful braised and pulled lamb. I figured since Delicatus had all these ingredients, they would be able to create a sandwich so I went right when the opened up and since they weren't busy I was …

If only I lived here

... I would eat here every day. Very busy at lunchtime; I sat at the counter and could watch the hubbub. I ordered The Activist sandwich, a vegetarian option, and it was just so excellent. If only I could have had many more meals - everything looked good. I can't wait to return to Seattle to visit this place again.

Great sandwich and soup

Sandwich and soup were both excellent. Cute outside seating on 1st in downtown Seattle. Great selection of sandwiches. Nice selection of wines. Service could have been better.

Snooty snotty waitress

The sandwiches looked delicious but they offer not gluten free options and when I dare asked for such an option the waitress was so rude she took any possible joy out of any dining experience to be had at this establishment. With the number of great restaurants in the area, I would truly pass on this one.

Business description (2)

Delicatus A Seattle Delicatessen is located at 103 1st Ave S, Seattle, WA. This location is in the Pioneer Square neighborhood. This business specializes in Delicatessens.

Wooden, rustic walls and old-school accents lend a homespun look to Delicatus, the Pioneer Square deli which seems to have caught the fancy of gourmands as well as drinkers alike. Facing some stiff competition from neighbors like Tat's and Salumi, this sandwich joint lives up to the hype. Located on 1st Avenue South, it offers a menu wisely segregated as contemporary and classic. Under its...
