"K Street types" gravitate to this "steady" seafood-strong New American spot on account of its "consistently performing" kitchen and "professional" staff that delivers a "value-oriented" "power lunch" in a "very DC" atmosphere; the art deco, former bank space is "stylish and architecturally distinct", so "sit upstairs and enjoy the view", though some prefer "hanging at the bar" downstairs with...

THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED DC Coast Restaurant Review

This beautifully restored Art Deco space in the lobby of the Tower Building was formerly a bank. Soaring ceilings, a bustling bar scene and the seafood dishes---inspired by the West Coast, Gulf Coast and Chesapeake Bay---make owner-chef Jeff Tunks’ DC Coast a downtown hot-spot. Dishes to look for include crispy fried Gulf oysters, Carolina mountain trout, soft-shell crab BLT, and for a grand...

Chef Jeff Tunks's menu at this sophisticated Downtown spot brings the foods of three coasts—Atlantic, Gulf, and Pacific—to Washington. Come for lunch to try his savory version of crab cakes; if you call ahead of time, you can order them for dinner. If you're homesick for New Orleans, try the gumbo (served only at lunch). For Pacific Rim cooking, you can't beat the Chinese-style smoked lobster....

Pillared temple with imitation Beux-Arts statuary pays homage to the ulterior motive, be it in business, love, or politicking. Saucy plates paint a flattering version of pre-Katrina New Orleans. Menu disproves that myth about Washington's underperforming seafood. Renowned for steaming soufflés so good they lick back at you. K Street location draws K Street crowd-more talk of retainers than a...

Stopped here for lunch with two friends while in DC from Boston. We had been here before and it was better in the past. We all got tacos for lunch. All were OK....my three tacos were actually just mildly warm if not just outright cold....

A trendy, upscale D.C. restaurant with great service and even greater cuisine. The waitstaff was excellent and paid close attention to every detail. The decor is a taste of art deco mixed with old school panache.

Solid experience during DC restaurant week in August 2015. Although on the pricier side for restaurant week, the service matched the experience. Had a later reservation and things were quieter, which made for healthy conversation for our group of 7 people.

BOTTOM LINE: Would definitely...
