Zed Wondemu, celebrities, politicians, ethiopian, ethiopian food in Washington DC, Georgetown
Located in the former Zed’s Ethiopian Cuisine space, Georgetown’s Das has the same pristine, white-tablecloth décor and a full bar. Upstairs dining commands a good view of M Street traffic, but on either floor, you will find a full array of Ethiopian dishes. Start with the shrimp appetizer (also offered as an entrée), which is served with spongy injera bread as are all courses. Plan to use your...
Like Meskerem in Adams-Morgan, Zed's was one of the first Ethiopian restaurants to open in D.C. And like Meskerem, its menu offers a good introduction to Ethiopian cuisine. Just ask Sen. Hillary Clinton or the actor Clint Eastwood, two of the many celebrities who've sampled Zed's over the years.
The quality and authentic tastes and preparation here continue to be on point. Will continue to come as long as they stay true to the food and origins! Could improve service. Host was delightful, table service was a bit amiss.
We were rushed to finish our dinner by the waitresses. At the end, they even asked us to leave (we were about to order coffee/dessert but the check was brought to us immediately after the rushing dinner) - saying there were people in line.

The food was amazing, each item had a unique taste, and very reasonably priced. The honey wine was great too. The staff were friendly and very personable.
Nice cosy place with authentic Ethiopian dishes served under the watchful eyes of an attentive manager. The Veggie Sampler spread was outstanding and we would definitely return to try out other dishes! The lemon sorbet was the cherry on the cake. Service was well-timed and friendly, wines were affordable.
