Help us make it rightWelcome to Curry Leaf. Opened in November of 2000 we've been operating Indian restaurants since 1976 and most New York cooks know our retail store, Kalustyan, which offers an unsurpassed source of Asian & Middle Eastern foods and spices. Go here for: Indian restaurant, st taste, Curry Leaf, chicken mahkini, paneer
Curry Leaf is one of the better selections on Curry Hill, with dishes that are just that much more deeply spiced (and just that much more expensive). Perhaps not so surprising when you know the proprietors also own Kalustyan's, the popular nearby international market. Standouts include gingery chicken kadai and rich navratan curry.
"Consistently solid" and "fairly priced", this Curry Hill Indian from the folks behind famed spice mart Kalustyans serves "old familiars" in "dinerlike" digs; "fast service" and a wide range of lunch specials keep it bustling.

Though the decor of the restaurant is rather plain and no fancy, but the quality of food is great and the price is...
We had the veg platter and lunch veg thali. The food was pretty lousy. The saag paneer was "weak" and the channa masala (chickpeas) barely had any spice and were not heated enough. I worked in India for 3 years and only cook Indian at home, so I know what these should taste like. The onion pickle was good, though.
We came here with the family on a Wednesday evening, because we had been recommanded this restaurant from a New Yorker Tour guide. The restaurant is close to the Metro Station "28th Street" (Line 4,5 and 6) and is very easy to find. From the inside it looks a lot nicer than it does from the outside.
When we came...
One of the best indian food on curry hill, very underrated but they have the best authentic use of spice and biryani. 5 star
