A real sit-down eatery from Chelsea Market's Lobster Place, this next-door, subway tile–lined seafooder offers up lobster rolls and other midpriced shore faves, plus raw-bar items, matched with a respectable drinks list; it takes its name from crustacean talk: a ‘cull' is a lobster who's lost a claw and a ‘pistol' is one who's lost both.
The Lobster Place does a proper sit-down restaurant in the Chelsea Market. Lively little dining alley; bar's lined with craft beer handles, and a dozen oysters from up and down both coasts fill a pencil-in list. Cuttlefish on a bed of squid ink angel hair and a daily grilled whole fish highlight the entrée list. Lobster rolls done two ways for Lobster Place stalwarts.
Great seafood, fish that is perfectly cooked unfortunately the portions are small, the bill for two with no wine was 140,00 plus tip
Great experience while visiting. Amazing cocktails and I suggest the clam toast, lobster ramen, and the dumplings!
Excellent fish dishes with wonderful flavor. Each of the three of us order different dishes, so we could taste all. I had the hamachi collar which was yellowtail in a miso soup with mushrooms. My daughter had the Vietnamese branzino, and my wife the special black snapper. (Note, that the waitress introduced the hamachi as "yellow fin tuna." It was pointed out to her that this was not correct...
Excellent oysters, lobster roll, lobster ramen
The food at Cull and Pistol is unsurpassed. Fresh, flavorful and just plain delicious. We ended up being there for 3 hours as our server was so engaging and we did not feel rushed.
