What the community has to say about Crocodile Cafe -CLOSED

Information about this business (2)

Just look for the crocodile skin-patterned sign in the window and you'll have found this popular hangout. Part eclectic diner, part rock club, it draws people from all over to its location in chic Belltown. Famous rock stars that have Seattle roots have been known to play inexpensive, unannounced shows at this location. There is a full bar and a full menu of burgers like the Cajun Burger is...

The live music is the primary draw here, but the food’s pretty good, too.

However, alternative rock dominates, as it has since the heyday of Seattle grunge.

Editorial Review by Citysearch Staff

The Crocodile Cafe was a blooming scene for the Seattle 90's era grunge scene bands (Nirvana, Mudhoney) and many great musicians have come through the Crocodile Cafe during their rise to fame and tours to the Northwest. The Crocodile Cafe is a very personal venue for musicians and their audience as the pit area is small. The pit is sandwiched between the stage and bar so thankfully getting a...

Business description (5) view all

Other Recommended Nightlife: Opened in 1991 and host to bands like Nirvana, Pearl Jam, and Mudhoney, the semi-recently renovated Crocodile is one of the best live music venues in Seattle to see those lesser-known, up and coming bands. A top venue for the city's frequent music festivals, the croc also has a stellar sound system (check the specs for yourself, they're on the website) and a Back...
