Do not rent a cabin!!!

We stayed here one night and overall had a good time, because of the family I was with. However this campground could use a lot of basic cleaning and maintenance. We paid $50/each for 3 cabins, which on the outside looked decent - until we stepped inside. The first thing we all noticed was the soiled (and I mean soiled!!) beds. Extremely disgusting. The cabin had electrical tape on the roof to cover holes. There were wasps nest inside of the cabin and dust and live and dead insects galore! The property owner did advise us to bring our own linens but geez we should have all just brought our own beds. It was disgusting! So if you plan to camp here it is recommended that you do NOT rent a cabin. The owner came around to clean out a cabin for his next renters he simply brought a dust blower. Spent 1 minute blowing out the cabin and wala - done all clean! The owner did say he lived on the property so hopefully he will get these cabins in order.

The grounds were not as bad as the cabins, although the shared bathrooms and showers we pretty filthy themselves.

They do have fire pits and very small grills in front of each cabin. The is a fishing dock, but it is only usable for about the first 20-30 feet. The remainder of the dock is tilted sideways out of the water.

We planned to rent a paddle boat, but he only had 1, the other kayaks and canoes we not well maintained. Cabin rentals are probably fine for young teens looking to party or people who just don't care about cleanliness.

I really did not want to write this bad review but felt it necessary to share my experience to any families out there considering to rent cabins there.

Tip 1 - Rent a tent or RV, camper site only. I have a feeling this place use to be really nice because it has great potential. The owner was nice at times, but became a real jerk when my 9 week old golden retriever puppy was let off the leash by one of my children. Even after I apologized and said it was done in error and wouldn't happen again, he literally just said "whatever" and turned and walked away.

Best place to stay on the lake!

My husband and I just stayed there over the 4th of July weekend (we stayed there for the first time 3 weeks ago and loved it so much we had to go back!. We have a 30' travel trailer; the rv sites are large enough to accomodate large rvs or motor homes. The owners are fabulous; they constantly walk through the area to make sure there are no problems. They hired a band Saturday night with a...

Best Camp in the Area

This camp is tucked away in a sea of beautiful oak trees right on the banks of Eagle Mountain Lake. Twelve cabins were not only cute, but clean and homey. Each came with its own bbq grill and we really enjoyed soaking in the stars by the large fire pits on the lawn. There's a large volleyball court as well as a breezy pavillion with a built in smoker, stage and serving line. Our friends and family had a great time eating there! The bathrooms are clean and well kept just like the rest of the grounds. We were able to get bait onsite. This was a memorable trip for us and we are sure to...

Great Camp

The camp has the feel of outdoor camping with the luxury of small quaint cabins. there are lots of things to do at the camp. Volleyball, horseshoes, fishing, and swings. Our kids enjoyed it. Each little cabin has a small grill and picnictable. On the porch of the cabin ladies there is a rocking chair. Has a community bathroom that was very well kept. Hope everyone enjoies there stay like we did ours. WE WILL BE BACK.

Pros
