Full disclosure, I am a Marriott fan. The rooms were nice, hotel well kept. A couple of issues with this one for me. First the coffee situation. Signs on elevator say you can get coffee anytime. Asked Front desk clerk at 5:15 am and he says not until 7 am on Saturday. Second - the 'restaurant' on the web site...
Courtyard is located in the center of town next to an active rail line. Don't worry the trains are fairly quiet and actually we looked forward to them pasting by our window...a part of history we seldom see. The facility is clean and well run. Loved the swimming pool. Felt very relaxed here. Good restaurant.
The room is small with far too much furniture, but it's clean and the bed is comfortable. There's a coffee pot, shampoo, conditioner, body lotion and bar soap. Parking is free but breakfast is not and neither is lobby coffee.
This place is convenient for the 1-95 traveler and right by a large mall with ample places to dine. Beware...
We stayed here to visit DC but not have to pay DC prices for lodging. The Wmata Train Station was 3 minutes away (by car) so we bought daily passes and rode the train in to wherever we were visiting that day. Kids loved the train ride so an added bonus to the trip. Back to the hotel...nothing overly special...
Very good one night stay at the Courtyard in Springfield. Friendly late night check in. The room was spotless. Great bed and large size room which seems to be a standard at Courtyard by Marriott hotels. Thanks to Diane at check out for her friendly service. She is a true Marriott ambassador. We sure would love to stay there again...
