Fans find "Paris in Milwaukee" at this "authentic"-style Third Ward French bistro turning out "deliciously simple" fare plus some "imaginative" preparations; if a few find the decor a "bit faded", most agree that the "understated", "first-rate" service and "value" tabs more than compensate, concluding, it's "definitely a place to return."

We were very disappointed with our meal. I ordered the Coq Au Vin, a recommended dish. The chicken was cold in the middle. It was warmed up when I complained, and they had nuked the flavor and moisture out of it. It had no taste. My husband had the hanger steak and it was chewy and bland. Frites were nothing special. Have been enjoying wonderful meals at Coquette since it opened. Never fails to please. All entrees are exceptional, particularly the trout, coq au vin and eggplant casserole. So very French, so very good!!

food is always excellent. Service is wonderful. Person feels very welcome at the restaurant.
Very good at recommending wines, desserts, specials and entrees. The fennel sausage pizza is delicious, right amount of sausage, cheese, and sauce- my favorite but all the their pizzas are excellent. The meatloaf entrée is excellent. The desserts are so delicious hard to pick one.

I love the atmosphere and the service is always excellent. The food is a bit inconsistent. Sometimes the chicken is a bit rubbery and salads a little salty but the warm baguette and delicious butter never disappoint. Still one of my favorite places.
