A quintessential neighborhood breakfast spot where almost everybody knows the waitresses' names.

In Short
Lone diners with newspapers, cops and groups of friends who meet here weekly fill the orange vinyl booths. The decor is a cluttered mix of framed flour bags, antique kitchen...

Copper Dome used to be the best breakfast on Earth. expected to wait in lobby on a Saturday morning for a table, and that was ok cause the pancakes and crepes had variety, were unique, and always great. had an outstanding old school feel and very loyal customer base.
its been remodeled and the menu is sterilized to food thats...

This was a decent enough breakfast spot. They had a lot to choose from including many variations on the omelet. Food was kind of bland, nothing spectacular. Fast and friendly service.

I don't know how this place got listed as one of the ten best breakfast places by City Pages. The omelets were not only not fluffy, they were actually leathery. The pancakes were okay, but nothing special. Our server was great, but with all the other good places to eat breakfast in the Cities, we won't return here.

Yig. Fake grease, plastically coating all in the same chemical pate. Fake syrup, too. Some places survive, we never know how.

Excellent 'Cakes! My understanding is that the owner was part of the first Perkins. Decent food overall. Usually a little crowded. Service varies widely, from very pleasant to one particular waitress who consistently treated us like we were an nuisance to be dealt with on her tip-collection route. Some of the other, younger servers were very nice though. Again, pancakes great - the rest of the...

It’s all about breakfast at this old school eatery. The retro décor may be the most immediately noticeable aspect of the Copper Dome—the place is festooned with artifacts like printed flour sacks and an antique cooking range—but it’s the cakes that compel its fervorous local following. The menu is heavy on breakfast combos centered on pancakes, crepes and waffles, many of which are less than...

Where's the copper dome? The owners sold it to a Middle Eastern store in 1981 when they moved the restaurant from its previous Como Avenue location.
