Operations may be disrupted due to COVID-19. Be sure to contact the restaurant to find out its current status and offerings.Coppa Restaurant Review

Coppa's Italian-focused menu will please even the most adventurous palates with its house-made squid ink linguine with lobster, not to mention the tripe, beef tongue and pork belly stew. The less daring tend to stick with the Bolognese, ricotta gnocchi and wood-fired pizzas. In general, a basic tomato and basil margherita pizza is the best way to go here. The restaurant only has a beer, wine...

Citysearch Editorial Review

This South End enoteca is casual, tiny, affordable, bustling and locavore-friendly; yet, like that effortlessly cool kid who’s completely oblivious to his popularity, Coppa is also a disarming...

The tagliatelle was the best pasta I’ve ever had!! My friends enjoyed the sardines and the tiramisu was incredible. Great service and beautiful interior, would recommend to anyone coming to Boston!

Overly Expensive and so-so service

I had high expectations for Coppa, given what I was told by the folks I was going with. We went on a Sunday night, of a holiday weekend, so we expected more folks than usual. We arrived early ahead of our reservation and were seated...right away, so that was nice. The reason for 2 stars: our server was incredibly curt, unhelpful and unfriendly. He gave short answers and didn't have...

Good food but NOT WORTH THE ATTITUDE

We had a 5:15pm reservation on the patio and received three texts to confirm.
We received a call saying patio was closed because of the poor weather, so could we come @ 5pm sharp and had to be finished by 6:15. We agreed and showed...@ 4:56pm.
We entered and were addressed with a LOUD Yell, "We have 4 Minutes" and asked to stand outside in the rain.
5:02pm, the manager started opening the...

The food is generally good (loved the soppressata pizza) and drinks are good too. However, the interior is really small and the tables were all pushed very close together so it's hard to get in...

Just don’t

Coppa has fallen off a cliff. To call the service bad would be an understatement. To describe the food as par would be overly praising it. This is one of those places that believes in its own hype and cares little about delivering on it....And, when your excuse for lousy service is to blame a small staff, there are two relatively simple solutions: don’t fill a patio with 60 guests and have one...

Business description (2)

Chaos. Tasty, tasty chaos. A partnership between chefs Ken Oringer and Jamie Bissonnette, Coppa is tiny, insanely crowded, and totally wonderful. Like Oringer's Toro a few blocks away, it's a neighborhood party with great food: Italian-inspired small plates, salumi, pasta, and pizza crafted from local, seasonal ingredients. -The Boston Globe

Ken Oringer is at the helm of Coppa and he is one of Boston's best loved fine dining chefs, with Toro and Clio also under his belt. This quaint little rustic restaurant, with its incredible selection of wines and mixed drinks, is a pleasant contrast to many of the sleek uptown restaurants that it shares a berth with. The food puts unexpected twists on classic Italian cuisine, such as the famed...

Tips about this business (3)

Know Before You Go

The bar has a splendid list of wine, beer and cocktails, but Coppa has a cordial license, meaning that cocktails showcase creative constraint--a gin-less negroni compensates by infusing Campari with juniper and adding Cinzano sweet vermouth.

Fun Fact

A bristly boar's head is mounted on the wall at the back of the restaurant, right above the kitchen's open entrance.

The Extras

Coppa chefs Ken Oringer and Jamie Bissonnette also run acclaimed tapas restaurant Toro, located within walking distance.
