The place is ok. Some stuff in the grocery has great price for the quality. Frozen foods are all mostly expired, so keep an eye out on that. The meat department is pretty ok. Some of the meats you can notice they've been sitting there for a long while waiting to be sold but never in any really bad shape what-so-ever. Their ground meat is great same with the chicken!! Best in town!! Did I mention very friendly meat department staff ready to answer your questions with a smile! ;)
I've been there for photocopies and I must admit, very reasonable price as well as service. A++ :)
However I am very disappointed with the b@!%!*s that work at the cash register (not the manager, she's a really nice lady). Apparently these chicks have some sort of flirtation with the guys that work there and as soon as they see me walk in the damn place they give me the "F@!k You" eye. Really don't get it cause I'm just a customer, not a b@!%h trying to take away their f@!%!*g co worker bfs. Crisi or whatever her name is the worst of all the b@!%!*s that work there. The times I've been at the cash register with her it's been a rough treatment I've had, same with the other b@!%h Meghan or something like that. All the employees there treat me like I was some sort of f@!%!*g mexican cause of my black hair. I've been asked if I have a green card??? Hello?? WHAT THE HELL???? I know it's Oildale but I've never had that problem else where, like for example Vons or the new Walmart.
I've been a loyal customer to copes for the last 6 years and all of a sudden I'm having these problems cause of the new kids they hire without a previous lesson on what Manners are. Geesh, I just put up with this cause of the great stuff they sell that's all, if it was for me I would just go over to Vons if it wern't that their a god dam ripp off.

Was just there, friendly and hospitable. I've lived around the corner for 2 years and came in for the first time; it will definitely not be my last.
I do like this market. It does have the type of meat I like to eat. I eat a lot of boglma, and hot dogs. These are freshly cut to my liking. But their is one thing about the meat part of the store that upset me a while back. I was next in line to order my stuff. An older person was in front of me. The man asked the guy behind the counter to put the clephane around his potatoe salad he just got....
Great meat counter.. The have some great marinaded meats (chicken, tri-tips).
