Help us make it rightGreat food in an attractive, convenient Dupont Circle location contributes to the popularity of this Chinese eatery. ...
The emphasis in City Lights of China the basement restaurant is on fabulous and reasonably priced food. It is very popular among Dupont Circle diners, so expect quite a crush at peak dining hours. The menu is extensive, with hearty soups served in meal-size portions and entrees that include extravagant dishes, such as whole sea bass.
"Large portions" of "cheap", "classic" Chinese "standards" ("crispy beef" is the "standout") have kept these "friendly" and "reliable" Dupont Circle and Bethesda joints going for years; given their "hole-in-the-wall" looks, happily they're known for "fast delivery."
This dependable, basement-level Chinese restaurant is always filled with a neighborhood crowd who put up with the brisk, impersonal service because they know they’ll get good, spicy Hunan and Szechuan cooking.
