Our business started out as part of the Standard Oil Co. of New York (Socony) which was bought by Mobil Oil Corporation to become Socony Mobil. The original blueprints for our building were drawn up on July 3, 1926 and construction began in the later part of that year. From 1926 until 1964 there were a few different owners, in 1964 Mitch Cichy Sr. purchased the building from Mobil and officially started Cichy's Garage in Williamsburg. Mitch Sr. had previously owned a repair shop on King Street in Northampton where the D'Angelo's sub shop currently sits in the original building. Since then Mitch Cichy Sr. has passed down Cichy's Garage to his eldest son, Mitch (Mickey) Cichy Jr. Improvements have been made to the shop, including an addition to the building, new car lifts and equiptment, brickwork in front of and inside the shop, and a neon sign out front.
