What the community has to say about Chiquita's Mexican Restaurant

Information about this business (1)

Since opening the doors in 1967, Chiquitas has been a San Diego favorite winning over the hearts and appetites of locals and visitors alike throughout the generations. Traditionally, Mexican meals are to be savored, with greater emphasis placed on relaxation, leisure, and less on being in a hurry. Throughout the years, one thing that never changes is Chiquitas commitment to quality and...

Carne asada burritos and slushy margaritas are favorites inside this cheerful Mexican eatery east of downtown.

In Short
The sign is tiny, but fuschia-colored flowers blooming over the bright yellow exterior indicate that this is the right place to be. Operating since 1967, the eatery moved to...

Perhaps I am a little biased having eaten at Chiquita's for the last 26 years, but the tradition is old with my family. My parents knew the owners very well when this restaurant opened in San Diego and we regularly supported the establishment. It's not only because of the family owned restaurant with …

Staffed accordingly but seemed very over whelmed for some reason and took awhile to get seated with open tables around. The menu might be one of the most …

This is the real deal. Mexican food as good as it gets. Served by friendly women. Don't miss the tortilla chips made fresh when you order them. All the dishes you'd expect. I love the carnitas, carne asada, beans, enchiladas, enormous burritos. An excellent value, relaxed atmosphere, bar on the premises but not in the dining room. Delisioso!!
