solid diner food and great service

what we were looking for--clean, reliable diner food, served quickly with attentive wait staff. food wasnt exciting but was fine. coffee was terrific and they accomodated special orders well! (ie milk for the coffee and runny yolks for the benedict). hollandaise sauce was excellent but spinach tasted frozen(not a lot of flavor). price was great and we will be back.

Just what you'd expect

The Chef's Hat is just what you'd expect in a roadside diner. Quick, simple food in hearty portions, free refills on coffee and a comfortable, friendly atmosphere. Decent prices and a large local crowd. We love coming here at least a couple of times a month for breakfast.

You'll be hard pressed to find a table at this diner on Sunday morning, when just about everyone in town seems to stop by for a hot breakfast. The decor is a little dreary, but the food is all-American and is served fast and hot. Check out the century-old countertop. D, MC, V. Closed Mon. No dinner Tues. and Wed.
